About Global Sustainability Awards 2023

Council of Royal Roots and ARCedTech partnered to host  Global Sustainability Awards 2023 for students, educators and schools. These awards are open to K12 institutions across the world, providing the schools, students and educators a platform to showcase their efforts towards a sustainable future. The Awards aim to applaud efforts by students, educators and schools to foster the culture of sustainability among children and showcase the best practices and innovations from around the globe. We believe this initiative helped us push Agenda 2030 and encourage schools to take definite steps towards Education for Sustainable Development.

Vibha Dhawan 

Director General, The Energy and Research Institute 

Dr Vibha Dhawan is associated with The Energy and Resources Institute since 1985. She also served as the Vice-Chancellor of TERI School of Advanced Studies from 2005-2007. She is a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India.

She is the winner of Indian Women Achievers Sammaan 2017 by NRI Achievers; Women Leadership Agriculture Award 2016 by the Indian Council of Food & Agriculture; First Biotech Product and Process Development and Commercialization Award of the Department of Biotechnology in 2000, the Kamal Kumari National Award for Science and Technology and the first All India Biotech Association (AIBA) award in 1998.

Positive Rishikumar

Director, YUVA Unstoppable 

Positive Rishikumar comes from a strong background in Leadership and Management. He has more than 15+ years of versatile experience in CSR Advisory in partnership with fortune 500 companies & technical institutions engaged in the areas of Education, Skill Development, Art, Culture, Heritage, Training and Management. His deep interest in social work has led him to work in the mentorship of Late President Dr Kalam for education and later in PM's digital India Initiatives to improve the quality of education in Govt schools across India. He was given the “Target 3 Billion” book as an award signed by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and later he pledged his life to empower young generation of India. He had received a letter of appreciation by PM Shri Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister Of Gujarat in 2014 to work in the subject of corporate social responsibility.

Prabhjot Sodhi

Sr. Program Director,

Centre for Environment Education

Prabhjot Sodhi, with a total of 40 years’ experience presently (June 2021 onwards) Sr Program Director, Circular Economy at Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Director (CE) MRAI, India & Advisor Earth Day Network India.

Previously Head UNDP Circular Economy.


- In 2012, awarded the Talented Conservator Award by The George Washington University, Washington DC, USA.
- In 1998, awarded the `Most Excellent Order of the Member of British Empire’ (MBE) by Government of the United Kingdom.

Ashwini Kumar Choubey

Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Environment, Forest and Climate Change

Ashwini Kumar Choubey (born 2 January 1953) is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party who is currently serving Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Environment, Forest and Climate Change and a member of the 17th Lok Sabha. He is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha representing Buxar (Lok Sabha constituency) and a former health minister of Bihar.

 

He was accredited to have built 11,000 toilets for minority and Below Poverty Line families under Swachh Bharat Mission. A slogan "Ghar-ghar Me ho Shouchalaya ka Nirman, Tabhi hoga Ladli Bitiya ka kanyadaan" given by him was a hit.

Mohommad Asif 

Executive Director, Plan India 

Mr Mohammed Asif is the the Executive Director Plan India. Asif joined Plan India in 2006 and took on a national role as Director, Programme Implementation in 2009. Over the past decade, he has ensured the successful implementation of over 500 development projects across India, with an aggregate budget of USD 250 million in partnership with more than 100 grassroots NGOs. Among other successes, the Saksham project for youth economic empowerment has transformed the lives of over 80,000 young women and men.

 

He has been an active member of several working groups within Plan International and is the global Chair of Plan’s National Office Programme Directors Network.

Anshul Alagh

Anshul Alagh, a dynamic professional since 1998, boasts a multifaceted career encompassing Garment Production, Sales & Marketing, Brand Management, and more. With over two decades of experience, he is a respected expert in People Strategy.

 

Currently the CEO of Council Of Royal Roots, Anshul delivers strategic solutions to government departments and top corporations, bridging rural and urban sectors. His expertise spans Corporate Social Responsibility, Climate Change, Micro-finance, Risk Management, and more. Having held leadership roles at Walmart and Landmark Group, Anshul is a qualified MBA from NIRM Ahmadabad, with additional diplomas and a Bachelor's from Delhi University

Rakesh Khatri

Nest Man Of India, Founder & Trustee
(Eco Roots Foundation)

Founder & Managing Trustee of Eco Roots Foundation, he has committed his life to stimulating young minds towards conservation of environment. 

Rakesh Khatri, a documentary filmmaker by profession and an environmentalist at heart switched his full time career to Environment Conservation in 2008 committing himself to ecosystem conservation particularly in a pursuit to find a solution to the dwindling population of birds living around human population like sparrows, myna, robin etc. After multiple innovations and experimentations, he succeeded in creating a nest out of bamboo, cloth, jute, cotton among other thing which have an adoption rate of over 75%. As a result of this, the population of sparrows which was on a steep decline in 2008 is currently at a comfortable figure.
